The perfect skiing day at Skiliftkarussell Winterberg

Tips and tricks for your winter sports adventure in Sauerland

Does it really exist - the perfect skiing day? And what does such a perfect day look like anyway? When you go skiing at Skiliftkarussell Winterberg , you naturally want to get the most out of your day. Therefore we give you helpful tips today to help you avoid rush hours and thus use the time optimally for the downhill runs in the skiing area. Even though we will be talking about skis again and again in the following, the same is true for snowboarders.

A real insider tip is an early arrival. Most guests usually arrive between 9:30 and 11:00 am and the streets and parking lots fill up. An early alarm clock may be a hurdle for many, but we strongly recommend that you get an early start. No traffic jams on the roads and no waiting times at the ski rental in Winterberg. The best thing is that you can start directly on the piste at 9 am and benefit from top prepared and little used slopes. If now the weather plays along and a bright blue sky is over Skiliftkarussell , nothing stands in the way of a perfect skiing day.

The Skiliftkarussell Winterberg provides several free large car parks. No matter from which direction you are coming, you should in the best case not drive through Winterberg , but go directly to the first parking lot. Did you know that since this season the lifts at Skiliftkarussell Winterberg are seamlessly connected? This means for you that you can get from A to B without having to unbuckle your skis.

If you travel via Medebach, Olsberg or Meschede, there are plenty of parking spaces at Remmeswiese at P6. A small tip: Guests who come to Winterberg via the A46 can also drive via Eslohe and Schmallenberg in case of traffic jams. From Schmallenberg and Bad Berleburg you can park directly at Kappe or at the large car park P3. Alternatively, a few hundred meters further on, parking spaces P2 and P1 can be found at Bremberg and Herrloh respectively.

We recommend that you reserve your skis online here in advance. This will save you not only waiting times in the ski rental shop but also costs, because you will get a 10% discount on your rental fee when booking online. You will also find a branch of the ski rental Brinkmanns at each of the mentioned parking lots, so that you can easily and uncomplicatedly pick up your rental equipment there. Only in the Herrloh branch is an online reservation currently not possible.

After arrival and ski rental have been checked off, it is time to hit the slopes. You can get your lift tickets at every lift. Many of the guests line up at the first ticket office, making the queue longer and longer. In the valley at the lifts, however, there are usually shorter waiting times at the lift ticket offices. However, if you take advantage of the early arrival tip, there should be no problems with waiting times in the morning.

Finally the time has come: The lifts start turning and the skiing day in Winterberg can start. If you want to see the whole skiing area, you have to cover a few kilometres in the snow. Together with the toboggan lifts, the ski area Winterberg offers 29 lifts and over 27 kilometres of slopes. A highlight that you shouldn't miss is definitely the longest run in Skiliftkarussell Winterberg . It is 1,200m long and is located at lift number 14 and is called "Waldschneise". Next door is also the slalom slope, which is the steepest descent north of the Alps and therefore a real professional slope. But don't worry, because the first mentioned forest aisle is a blue marked and therefore easy to ski for young and old. Altogether seven runways, to which the two already mentioned rank, and three elevators (No. 14, 15 & 16) form the skiing area Kappe. This is part of the Skiliftkarussell Winterberg .

Of course it is also time for a break. If you want to recharge your batteries, we also recommend avoiding the rush hours in the ski huts, snack bars and restaurants. This means that you should start your lunch break either early or late. The biggest rush is usually between 12:00 and 14:00. If you avoid these times, you will not only benefit from short waiting times for food, but also from empty slopes at lunchtime. With the panorama of the city Winterberg surrounded by the snow-covered Sauerland mountains, the Panorama Café - Restaurant is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy delicious food and drinks in a cosy atmosphere.

Back in the snow, further kilometres of slopes are then collected. Did you know that after an eventful day you can use your ski ticket to see for yourself which lifts you have used and how many metres of distance and altitude you have covered? You can easily do this via the page skiline.cc. Just register online, enter your card number and all information about your skiing day will be displayed.

There comes a time when even the most beautiful day comes to an end. With the closing times of the Skiliftkarussell Winterberg, the streets become fuller again. The ski lifts stop operating at 16:30. Already half an hour earlier the streets start to fill up. On really full days this can last until 17:30/ 18 o'clock. Those who are exhausted should leave early and avoid the traffic before 4 pm. If you want to make full use of the skiing time instead, you can enjoy the early evening hours in one of the rustic ski huts after the lifts have closed to avoid the traffic.

For families, we have compiled further tips and tricks for skiing holidays at Winterberg .

After a day on the slopes of the ski area, the ski huts invite you to stop for a break when it's time to dance and celebrate with après-ski at Winterberg. For many winter sports enthusiasts this is an integral part of the ski day. The well-known song classics are sung along loudly and the atmosphere rises. In order to fully enjoy this spectacle, it is of course recommended to stay overnight at Winterberg. The Hostel Erlebnisberg Kappe is an inexpensive accommodation only 250 meters from the ski resort.

Finally, another tip from us for a very special experience: floodlight skiing. If there is enough snow, selected lifts open again in the evening hours. On Tuesdays and Fridays from 18:30 to 22:00, the slopes are illuminated by the powerful spotlights, the chairs are moved out of their parking position and the lifts start turning again. In the evening hours, the slopes are usually much emptier than during the day and offer a very special atmosphere under floodlight. Please note that a separate ticket is required for floodlit skiing. Day tickets are not valid here.

Skiing is much more than just a winter sport. If you have ever stood on the boards yourself, then you know that it is like an addiction that you want to experience again and again. Newcomers, on the other hand, quickly discover a passion for themselves and are captivated by the white sport. Use our tips and experience the perfect skiing day at Skiliftkarussell Winterberg .
